Hmm, what I learned in human and growth development class is crystallized memory. Is this what you wanted to represent? The degradation of crystallized memory as a effect of conditions that leads into dementia?
Whatever you're interpreting is fine, that's how art should be. My concept behind this is really personal, but spreads in many different directions as well, too much to put everything in words at this point..
I keep thinking that, maybe, at some point, you looked at a geode and thought "hell, that kind of looks like diseased neural tissue" and just went with that all the way. Incredible imagination for this, a grand idea with an even grander execution. Easily a favourite.
